A ROOM WITH A MEADOW VIEW

Developers at Meadow View have spent thousands decking out a stunning home at the select scheme – only to find the view from the windows that comes for free has stolen the show for buyers.

But, according the interior designers working for the developers, they had always intended to let the outlook take centre stage.

Rachael White of Tiger Interior Design said;  “When we looked through the windows at Meadow View, we knew that buyers were going to be bowled over by the view.

“As a result, we deliberately went for design that would allow the very meadows that gave this scheme its name to be the real stars of the show.

“Downstairs we went for a neutral colour pallet with simple, yet elegant, window dressings.  We even had a chaise longue especially made for the lounge - to help draw the eye to the gardens and the stunning rolling fields beyond.

“Upstairs, we drew inspiration from the meadows surrounding the development and went for bright, summer colours that would complement the setting.

“We are thrilled with the results and aren’t at all surprised that buyers have spent more time looking outside than inside.  We simply couldn’t compete with a view like that – and we never wanted to either.”

Unlike most new build schemes on the market today, Meadow View is surrounded by green fields and is set among nine acres of private, gated landscaped grounds.

The developers behind the scheme, Donald Harrison Homes and the Catesby Property Group, have worked hard to make the most of the rural setting  – space has been set aside for a traditional village green and pond, creating the look and feel of a typical British hamlet.

Steve Ewer of Donald Harrison Homes, said; “We opened the doors to the show home at Meadow View for the first time just a few weeks ago and enquiries rocketed as a result.  People can now imagine life here for the first time and nearly everyone who has been to see us has wanted to know more.”

“Househunters have loved the look and feel of the new show home and have commented on its fresh, open feel - but the view has been the main talking point, and that shouldn’t have been too much of a surprise to us.  The setting of this scheme is second to none.”

Every home at Meadow View is detached and comes with four or five bedrooms and a good sized garden.  Each house is individually finished with styles ranging from traditional Tudor and flint through to contemporary brick.

The development is situated just outside the north Hertfordshire village of Redbourn and is approximately two miles from Harpenden and one mile from junction 9 of the M1.

Prices start from £649,000 for a four bedroom detached home, rising from £1,300,000 for a deluxe five bedroom property.
