CATESBY TO INVEST £200 MILLION BY END OF YEAR

Stratford-based Catesby Property Group plc has announced plans to invest £200million in UK wide land and development opportunities by the end of 2007.

The business hasn’t ruled out strategic acquisitions across all of its operating divisions in order to meet its ambitious growth targets.

Established in 1996 by Midlands’ property entrepreneur Eric Grove, the business recently reported significantly increased profits of £5.3m for the period April - December 2006.  Managing Director, Paul Brocklehurst, is confident that 2007 will better last year’s performance.

He said; “This is shaping up to be an important year for us – not least because we now have the strongest team we have ever had.  In 18 months, we’ve more than doubled in size – from just five of us at the end of 2005 to the twelve-strong team we have today.

“This is mirrored in Catesby’s overall growth.  We have a mixed portfolio of Commercial Development, Strategic Land, Development Finance and an increasing interest in Residential.  Now, with the extra funds we have released, we are looking to expand these businesses significantly.

“As a privately owned company, we can make decisions quickly which puts us in an excellent position when it comes to concluding deals.  I am confident that the second half of this year will present some exciting opportunities for Catesby.”

Catesby has an existing land portfolio of 1000 acres of potential development land from the West Country to the North of England.

Current commercial projects include First Point, a 128 acre, 70% developed and sold industrial development in Doncaster and Vantage Point, a 115,000 sq ft industrial scheme by Fort Dunlop in Birmingham.

On the residential side, the business has recently acquired the former site of the Parks Depot in the Richmond upon Thames and is developing 27 luxury properties in Redbourn, Hertfordshire, in conjunction with Donald Harrison Homes.

Helping to secure new opportunities for land and development will be recently recruited development directors Lee Barrett and Andrew Southern, who join from David Wilson Homes and Countryside Properties respectively.

Barrett will be responsible for land and development nationwide, while Southern’s focus will be on residential opportunities in London and the South East.
