Catesby Property Group, the Midlands-based land and development company, has submitted outline planning for a £15million retail and leisure park in Bude, Cornwall.
The proposals include 75,000 square feet (7,968 square metres) of non-food retail space, a 50 bedroom hotel, a pub/restaurant and 530 parking spaces. The company is also in discussions with the local Primary Care Trust over an option agreement which will see land being set aside for a new medical centre for Bude and Stratton.
Managing director of Catesby Property Group, Paul Brocklehurst, said, “Our scheme has been designed to boost the local economy of Bude. It addresses a local need to retain more retail expenditure in the town, and should create up to 100 new jobs for this part of Cornwall. Proposals for the hotel and restaurant are also in line with regional policies to encourage tourism throughout the area.”
This scheme is one of several developments that Catesby Property has under its control at present. In addition to live projects in Richmond Birmingham and Doncaster, the company is also promoting schemes for 6,500 houses on land that it owns or has under option across the UK including Newark, Northampton, Dickens Heath in Solihull and Holsworthy in Devon.
Letting agents for the Bude development are King Sturge, Bristol.
